Small Passenger Vessel Course
The National Community Boat Association (NCBA) has developed the Certificate of Community Boat Management (CCBM) especially for the small passenger boat sector, primarily for voluntary and charitable organisations, but is equally suitable for small commercial operators. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has included the CCBM as suitable evidence of competency for small passenger vessel skippers in the New Boatmaster Licence structure.
The course assumes that candidates have prior boatmanship skills and knowledge of working with groups; training and assessment is carried out throughout the course, as required by the CCBM syllabus. The maximum number attending the course is five students.
Availability
CCBM courses can be held at any time, subject to the availability of the waterway for navigation. The course can also be held using students’ own vessels and premises by arrangement.
